The Joys of the Christmas Tree

As Christmas gets closer, I know it's time to buy "THE TREE". I always put this off as long as I can. I think if I was single and didn't have any kids, I'd probably buy a little tree that I could set on a table. I truly, only like the Christmas tree, because of how it makes my house smell. It is so nice to come home to the sweet smell of the pine needles.

But, I dislike everything else about the tree, the hassle of putting ornaments on it and lights too. Having to pull all the junk out of the attic, which is always full of dust. Then, my tree no matter how much water I give it, dries out before Christmas ever comes. ( any advice for this problem?)Then I am left with pine needles all over the floor. Oh, and I have a new problem this year, POO POO. She is a curious little kitten. She is going to be all over that tree. It is as bad as having a toddler. How many ornaments will break this year?

Luke and Christa offered to sell me their artificial tree, but that is sad. I'd rather just not have a tree at all. I do the Christmas tree, for the kids, they love it. So, I sacrifice all my unhappiness with the darn tree just to make them happy and see the smiles on their faces.

Only truly the very wisest and sweetest of mothers thinks of her children before herself like you do! 'Tis a gift, often unique to mothers, that further exemplifies one of God's special characteristic of Himself. Sacrifice. May we ALL remember God's perfect gift, Jesus Christ, this Christmas as we "do things" we'd rather not, for others. Thanks Delilah, for such a great blog with SO much lovely and symbolic meaning. Thank you for helping us all start the holidays right! (Eph 2:8)

Thank you Judy. You are very sweet. I think celebrating Christmas and sharing the real of Christmas is even more special when you share it with children.

Merry Christmas!!!!!
